Blueprint Koi – Blue Monochrome Skateboard Wall Art

Blueprint Koi: the koi carp, cast entirely in electric blue and rendered as a sculptural object against deep black. In Japanese and Chinese tradition the koi swimming upstream stands for perseverance, and the fish that climbs the waterfall becomes a dragon. Ukiyo-e artists from Hokusai to Hiroshige painted it in water and motion. Here the koi is lifted out of the pond and held still: fins, scales and curve of the body in one luminous colour.

Blueprint takes objects from the everyday and the iconic, things we pass without seeing, and renders them as monochrome blue sculptures, weightless against black. Each object becomes a study of itself.
