Blueprint Bust -- a classical sculpture bust redrawn in the visual language of technical blueprints: precise white linework on blue, the art object treated as if it were a manufactured component. The classical bust as a subject in modern art has been explored by Warhol (who screened Brillo boxes), by Jeff Koons (who polished Baroque forms in mirror steel), and by countless others who found the tension between antiquity and contemporary treatment productive. Here, the bust becomes an engineering diagram. Printed in gallery-quality UV ink on Grade-A Canadian maple.
