Michelangelo Creation of Adam – Sistine Chapel Renaissance Skateboard Wall Art
Michelangelo painted the Creation of Adam on the Sistine Chapel ceiling in 1511, near the end of the four-year commission. It is the ninth scene from Genesis. God — surrounded by angels in a swirling cloak — reaches out to Adam, reclining on a green hillside. The near-touch of the two index fingers has become the defining image of the relationship between the human and the divine in Western art. Michelangelo reportedly said the ceiling nearly ruined his eyesight and destroyed his body. The Sistine Chapel is in the Vatican.
