Amazon, Etsy and specialist stores can each list skateboard art, but the individual seller and product matter more than the platform name. Compare what is actually being offered.
Establish the type of object
Is it a functional skate deck, an art edition, a hand-painted original or a decorative replica? Check dimensions and materials.
A photograph of a deck does not tell you the production method or whether mounting hardware is included.
Check the seller's information
Look for clear attribution, contact details, current policies and photographs of the actual product. For an edition, check who produced it and what edition information is supplied.
Do not assume an Etsy listing is hand-painted or an Amazon listing is low quality. A specialist shop also needs to support its claims.
Compare the complete cost
Include delivery, mounting and any destination charges confirmed for the order. Read the current returns information and terms for customised products.
A low price is a reason to ask questions, not proof that an item is counterfeit.
Look for authorisation
Where contemporary artwork or characters are involved, seek information from the artist, producing brand or rights holder. A seller repeating an artist's name is not enough.
Make the choice
Compare the same requirements across all sellers: image, material, size, source, condition and delivery.
Choose the product that is described clearly and fits your needs, rather than relying on an invented platform-wide quality ranking.
